The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased from 4.3% to 3.7% for the month of September 2018.  One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.2%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased from 4.6% to 3.9%.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate is third lowest at 3.7% among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more. Columbus is tied with Lakewood for the second lowest at 3.6% and Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate of 3.5%. The City’s civilian labor force increased by 100 to 26,600.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.4% to 4.1% for the month of September.
