On July 31, 2026, at approximately 4:38 PM, officers from the Mentor Police Department responded to a motorcycle accident on Lakeshore Boulevard near Frederick Drive.
Initial investigation revealed that a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Lakeshore Boulevard and began braking before Frederick Drive. The motorcycle went off the road to the south and struck a utility pole.
The driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle was transported to Lake West Hospital by the Mentor Fire Department. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Lakeshore Boulevard was temporarily closed while the Mentor and Lake County Accident Investigation Units investigated the crash.
