Watch out for mail from NOPEC

Eligible Mentor residents and small business owners should have received enrollment letters from NOPEC regarding natural gas and electric aggregation programs for the period beginning with customers’ June 2023 meter read dates.

NOPECs standard program rate will be at 6.45 c/kwh (variable).

TO OPT IN
If you want to enroll in NOPEC’s Standard Program Price, you don’t need to take any action when you receive your enrollment letter.  You will automatically be enrolled.

TO OPT OUT
If you don’t want to enroll in the natural gas or electric aggregation programs, you must return the opt-out form attached to your enrollment letter to NOPEC by mail, by fax to 440-774-4422, or take a picture of the completed opt-out form and email it to out@nopec.org by the date indicated on your letter.

To permanently opt-out, residents can complete and submit the Electric Do Not Aggregate Form or call the PUCO toll-free at (800) 686-PUCO (7826). Customers will be asked to provide their name, service address and the customer account or identification number located on their utility bill.  Once registered on the do not aggregate list, customers’ names and service addresses will be displayed publicly on the PUCO website.  Customer account and identification numbers will remain confidential.

With Gas, there is no PUCO maintained list.  NextEra voluntarily maintains a Do Not Market List. Residents can call the Customer Care Center at 1-885-667-3201 to get their accounts listed.

Additional information about NOPEC’s aggregation programs can be viewed online at www.nopec.org or by calling NOPEC’s Customer Care Center at 1-855-667-3201.
