Mentor City Council passed a resolution last night declaring October as Police Officer Appreciation Month in recognition of their service.
Communities throughout the nation depend on the service of police officers to protect the public. Officers willingly face personal risk on daily basis in the performance of their duty.
“The City of Mentor is fortunate to have one of the finest police agencies in Ohio and the nation,” said Council President Janet Dowling, “In appreciation of their efforts, we wish to recognize these brave men and women and the extraordinary work they do in protecting us all.”
The clock tower at the Mentor Municipal Center will be lit in blue throughout the month of October.
