The burn ban has been lifted.
Effective immediately, no open burning is permitted in the city of Mentor until further notice. Due to the dry conditions and the air quality advisory caused by the Canadian wildfire smoke, the Mentor Fire Department has issued a ban on all open flames.
Recreational fires are included in this and are not permitted.
The Mentor Fire Department thanks residents for their cooperation.
