On July 27, 2026, at approximately 1:13 PM, officers from the Mentor Police Department responded to a two-vehicle serious injury crash near 8303 Tyler Boulevard.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Freightliner semi-tractor trailer was traveling westbound on Tyler Boulevard when it collided with a Mazda 6 that was exiting a private drive and attempting to enter Tyler Boulevard.
The driver of the semi was not injured. The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda, a 35-year-old Painesville woman, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. She was transported by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mentor Police Department’s Accident Investigative Unit.
