The City of Mentor is aware of the breakdown in negotiations between NOPEC and FirstEnergy regarding the electric aggregation program which will result in a termination of their contract effective January 1, 2017.
The city will be in contact with both organizations to discuss what this means for our residents – as well as explore all options available to us to identify and pursue potential power supply discount opportunities for our residents.
Mentor residents will not experience any interruption in electric service. The change will only affect the rate that consumers pay.
