Lakeshore Boulevard / SR-44 Overpass Overnight Closure
Motorists are advised that SR 283 over SR 44 will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, at 10 p.m. through Thursday, July 2, at 4 AM for a concrete pour.  The detour will be SR 44/Heisley Rd. to SR 2 to SR 283/ Richmond St.

Municipal Planning Commission Meeting
The Municipal Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 7:00 PM in council chambers located on the third floor of the Mentor Municipal Center. Meetings are open to the public and are broadcast live on the Mentor Channel, Spectrum 1024, U-Verse 99, and on our App available for ROKU, Apple, Android, and Fire. Meetings are rebroadcast numerous times throughout the following week.

Polka & Pints at Wildwood
The Chardon Polka Band will perform at the Wildwood Cultural Center on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 7:30 PM.  Join us at the newly constructed patio of the Wildwood Cultural Center as we celebrate and highlight the lively music, art, and culture of our community this summer. Garfield Statue Dedication & Community Picnic
The city of Mentor will unveil a statue of James A. Garfield on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 6:00 in front of the Mentor Municipal Center. The unveiling will be following by a community picnic with free hot dogs, chips, pop, and ice cream, as well as family friendly activities including the 1776 Yard Race. Independence Day Celebration
All are invited to celebrate Independence Day at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The grounds will open at 5:00 PM with a full program of events to begin at 5:30 PM including skydivers, a reading of the “Declaration of Independence” and more. Eagles-tribute “Hotel California” will perform at 8:00 PM with the LARGEST fireworks display in Mentor’s history to immediately follow!
