2025 [unveiled] Lake County Student Showcase on Display
Artwork from student artists grades 6-12 is now on display at the Mentor Municipal Center through April 25, 2025. The public may view the showcase Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. [unveiled] is presented by the Wildwood Cultural Center and the City of Mentor Community Arts Commission.
2025 [unveiled] Art Exhibition
The 2025 [unveiled] Art Exhibition (formerly the “Lake County Art Contest”) invites artists aged 16 and older to showcase their work and will be on display from May 3 through June 25, 2025. Over $2,000 in prizes will be awarded, including a $750 “Best of Show” prize. Download the application.
YARD WASTE COLLECTION BEGINS APRIL 7
The City of Mentor’s 2025 yard waste collection program will begin on April 7 and run through December 12. For more information visit the Waste Removal and Recycling page.
2025 PAVING PROJECTS SOON TO BE UNDERWAY
745 public streets stretch approximately 245 miles throughout the city of Mentor and it’s the responsibility of the Building & Engineering Department to oversee every inch. MENTOR PURCHASES LAND FOR NEW FIRE STATION
The City of Mentor is pleased to announce the purchase of 2.7 acres of land at the northeast corner of Johnnycake Ridge Road and Plaza Boulevard for the purpose of building new Mentor Fire Station 3. Demolition work has begun on the building at this location, commonly known as the old Sears Auto Center. Design of the new facility will begin this year with construction following thereafter. New Mentor Fire Station 3 is expected to be in service by the end of 2026. Learn more.
MAJOR CHANGES COMING TO CIVIC CENTER PARK
Residents may have noticed trees being felled in front of the skatepark on Munson Road. This is the first step in the reimagining of Mentor’s most popular park and includes new pool buildings, waterslides, parking lot, ballcourts, and more! Learn more.
2025 SPECIAL COLLECTIONS DATES ANNOUNCED
The Lake County Solid Waste District will conduct a special collection of hazardous waste on Saturday, May 31, 2025, and Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Lake County Fairgrounds located at 1301 Mentor Avenue. Learn more.
