Mentor Police SUVOn Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 7:13 AM, Mentor Police officers responded to a three-car serious injury accident at the intersection of SR-615 (Center St.) and Tyler Blvd. A 2008 Lexus, driven by a 51-year old male from Mentor-on-the-Lake, was travelling southbound on Center St. As it entered the intersection, it was struck by a 2017 Freightliner Box Truck, driven by a 35-year old male from East Cleveland.

After striking the Lexus, the 2017 Freightliner then struck a 2013 Honda, driven by a 27-year old male from Mogadore, that was northbound on Center St. waiting to turn eastbound on Tyler Blvd.  The Freightliner then continued and struck a traffic light pole at the southeast corner of the intersection, which resulted in the ejection of the driver.

The driver of the Lexus was taken to Hillcrest and is in stable condition. The driver of the Freightliner was taken to University Hospital and is in stable condition. The driver of the Honda was uninjured.

The roadway was reopened at approximately 11:20 AM.

The Mentor Police Department is currently investigating the crash. Alcohol does not appear to be factor.
