The City of Mentor’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program returns in 2025 to honor current or former Mentor residents who have served our country in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard.
Banners will be displayed for one season between Memorial Day through Veterans Day 2025 on light posts along Civic Center Boulevard and on Munson Road between Center Street and Market Street. Families and organizations can sponsor banners for $100.00 each to cover production costs. A limited number of banner positions are available and requests will be honored on a first-come / first-served basis.
Banners measure 24” x 48” and are double sided. Please note that the City of Mentor is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged, or destroyed, due to age, vandalism, or any acts of nature.
Participants are asked to complete the application form along with a preferred method of payment; and provide a high-resolution digital image that is at least 2,500 x 2,500 pixels. Art can be emailed to the Public Information Office at pubinfo@cityofmentor.com. If a digital image is not available, please email or call (440) 974-5794 to schedule an appointment to have your photo scanned while you wait at the Mentor Municipal Center.
Deadline for inclusion is April 15, 2025, or until all positions are filled. Banners will be available for pick up after November 15, 2025. Contact the Public Information Office at (440) 974-5794 or pubinfo@cityofmentor.com with any questions.
