The City of Mentor has received the Auditor of State Award with Distinction for their 2014 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The award is presented to entities which file an annual CAFR and timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP as well as receive a “clean” audit report.
The City’s audit financial audit did not contain findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or any questioned costs.
“We are very pleased to receive this award from the Auditor of State. It reflects the dedication to responsible financial reporting by so many employees of the City of Mentor administration. I am most proud of the excellent staff within the Finance Department, whose efforts made this award possible,” says David Malinowski, Director of Finance for the City of Mentor.
The Auditor of State Award with Distinction is the highest award issued by the Auditor’s office and was presented by Rebecca L. Widowski, Northeast Ohio Regional Liaison for the Auditor of State.
