Update: April 20, 2020
All available positions for the Mentor Hometown Heroes banner program have SOLD OUT for 2020. Thanks to everyone for their participation.
The City of Mentor’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program returns in 2020 to honor current or former Mentor residents who have served our country in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard.
Banners will be displayed from Memorial Day through Veterans Day on light posts along Civic Center Boulevard and on Munson Road between Civic Center Boulevard and Market Street. Families and organizations can sponsor banners for $100.00 each to cover production costs. A limited number of banner positions are available.
Banners measure 24” x 48” and are double sided. Please note that the City of Mentor is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged or destroyed due to age, vandalism, or any acts of nature.
An application form is available online or at the Parks & Recreation Desk located on the 2nd Floor of the Mentor Municipal Center, 8500 Civic Center Boulevard. Participants are asked to complete the application form along with a preferred method of payment; and provide a high-resolution digital image that is at least 2,400 x 2,400 pixels. If an image is not available, please bring a hard‐copy photo with you and it will be digitized while you wait. Digital photos in jpeg, png or tif format can be emailed to the Public Information Office at pubinfo@cityofmentor.com.
Deadline for inclusion is April 15, 2020 or until all positions are filled. Banners will be available for pickup after November 15, 2020. Contact the Public Information Office at (440) 974-5794 or pubinfo@cityofmentor.com with any questions.
