Mentor City SealThe City of Mentor is committed to serving our residents and will continue providing basic, core-level services including;

  • Safety Forces (Police, Fire/EMS, Dispatch)
  • Necessary Inspections
  • Processing Permits
  • Facilities Maintenance

The Mentor Municipal Center, Mentor Police Department, and Mentor Fire Administration Building remain open – however, we encourage residents to visit only for emergencies or necessary business.  Any business that can be conducted online or over the phone should be done so. A directory of phone numbers and department email addresses is posted on the City of Mentor contact page.

All other city facilities are closed to the public at this time including the Mentor Senior Center. However, we want to ensure that no seniors go hungry. Therefore, we are offering curbside pickup for a “made-from-scratch” daily special. Reservations for lunch must be made by noon the day prior. The cost is $4.50 per meal. Learn more.

All recreation programming is cancelled, and the City is not taking any additional rental reservations.

Our community goal is consistent with the state and federal goal of slowing the transmission and spread of the disease.  We will continue to work in harmony with our local Health District, the state of Ohio, all federal agencies, and our local health care systems.

We encourage all residents to follow the rules in place to minimize transmission of the disease.  These include those mandated by the Ohio Governor that:

  • All restaurants and bars are closed to the public other than carry-out or delivery. The City of Mentor is home to over 175 restaurants. You can download a copy of the Mentor Visitor Guide to review carry-out/deliver options.
  • All fitness centers, gyms, bowling alleys, public recreation centers, movie theaters, indoor water parks, and trampoline parks will remain closed
  • Gatherings of over 50 people are prohibited

We encourage CDC and Health Department recommendations be taken seriously, to include:

  • Maintaining social distancing of 6 feet
  • Limiting gatherings of ten or more people
  • Staying home and seeking care if you are sick
  • Helping to keep the elderly and those with underlying health conditions in lesser contact with the general population
  • Frequently washing your hands and using disinfectant
  • Frequently cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces in your home or place of business

As a community, as a state,  and as a nation,  we are in this together.  The City of Mentor is doing everything we can to make sure our service providers, especially our first responders, will be there when they are needed.  We all need to do our part to lessen that burden if we can and keep Mentor and Lake County healthy.
