Due to current social distancing restrictions, the Lake County Solid Waste District has canceled the first three special collection events for 2020.

  • April 25 – Electronics Collection
  • May 2 – Scrap Tire Collection
  • May 9 – Television / CRT Monitor Collection

“It is just unknown at this point what restrictions may still be in place as we battle the COVID-19 health crisis,” said Tim Gourley, Solid Waste District Coordinator, “The man-power needed to perform these collections at the level performed in the past would not allow workers to be distanced properly. The collections could put both residents and staff in harm’s way, and isn’t needed at this time.”

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection on June 6th and the second Electronics and TV/CRT Monitor Collection on August 15th are the next scheduled collections. The district, along with local leaders, will continue to monitor the situation to determine if these collections can still occur and be performed normally.

The only collection that will not be made up this year is the Scrap Tire Collection. However, these items can be brought to the Lake County Landfill for a nominal fee AFTER the stay-at-home restrictions have been lifted by Governor Mike DeWine.

Car and pickup tires without rims, up to 20” are $3.00 each. Semi-truck tires without rims, over 20″ are $5.00 each. Lastly, tractor and agricultural tires without rims are $15.00. Each resident is limited to bringing six tires in each of the previous categories. The Landfill is open Monday thru Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to the public.
