The unemployment rate decreased 1.1% to 4.2% in April 2022 for the City of Mentor and one year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.6%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 1.3% to 4.7% in April 2022; one year prior, it was 5.1%.
Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.1%, and Cuyahoga Falls and Columbus have the next lowest rate at 3.2%. Springfield has the third lowest rate of 3.9%, while the City of Mentor has the fourth lowest unemployment rate at 4.2%. The City’s civilian labor force remains at 25,900.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.7% to 3.7% in April 2022. The rate for the State was 5.5% in April 2021.
