Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate in July 2026 for the City of Mentor decreased 0.4% to 2.7% and in July 2025, the unemployment rate was 3.7%. For Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.4% to 2.8% in July 2026 and one year prior, it was 4.0%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 2.5%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 2.7%, and Parma has the third lowest rate with 3.0% followed by Cuyahoga Falls and Cleveland Heights with 3.2%. The City’s civilian labor force increased to 26,100.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.3% to 3.4% in July 2026. The rate for the State was 4.9% in July 2025.
