Aqua has announced plans to renovate their 1-million gallon water tower located at 8666 Station Street. The $500,000 project involves draining, sandblasting, minor repairs and repainting the tower over the next few months.
Work is expected to begin this week. Crews will start by conducting some exterior maintenance then cover the tower with a containment tent to minimize dust in the area. They will be sandblasting all interior and exterior surfaces and repainting using a special epoxy paint.
Work is expected to be conducted Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. through October. Plans have been made to avoid noisy activities during early morning hours to help minimize disruptions to neighbors.
Water pressure will be maintained by using high-service pumps. Customers should not notice any changes in their water quality during the project, though some pressure variations are possible. The quality of the water will not be affected and will continue to meet all federal and state water quality standards.
American Suncraft Painting Company of Medway, Ohio was selected to perform the specialized work.
