Rock Hall of Famer Pat Benatar has sold more than 36 million albums worldwide since breaking onto the scene in 1979 with “Into the Heat of the Night” and her breakthrough hit, “Heartbreaker”.  For over four decades, she’s been a rule-breaker and a trailblazer that has influenced generations of female artists with her inspiring message of empowerment and independence.

One of those artists is vocalist Jill Marie Burke who fronts Live from Earth, an LA-based tribute whose lineup is assembled with industry veterans.

We reached out to Jill who took the time to tell us what makes them tick, and what we can expect at Mentor Rocks on 29th.

What inspired you to start this tribute band?
I have loved Pat Benatar ever since I first heard her voice at age 9. A few friends in the tribute world had suggested to me that I consider starting a Benatar band. Plus, I had never produced or managed a band, so I gave it a shot. We rehearsed for over six months before our first public concert.

How long has your band been together?
We formed in 2013, and our first appearance was January 1, 2014.

What’s your favorite onstage moment?
When the crowd participates in singing “Heartbreaker.”

What’s your Pat Benatar song to perform and why?
One favorite is “You Better Run.” It was the second music video ever aired on MTV. For many, it was the first time I saw this gorgeous, tough, petite rocker on the screen. I was an instant fan.

What are you looking forward to for your Mentor Rocks date?
Being on a huge stage with a huge sound system with a huge crowd. You cannot get more ‘rockstar lifestyle’ than that!

What can fans expect to see at your Mentor Rocks date?
They will experience all the Benatar hits, delivered with excellent musicianship and lots of energy. Plus a few hidden song surprises!

Do you have another side gig? Original music or something else you’d like to mention for people to check out?
All of us are either members in other bands or we teach and musical direct. Check out Fake Matthews Band, MindWars, The Breakfast Club, and Red Skies.

Any other message for the fans?
We cannot wait to come to Ohio. It will be the band’s first appearance there. We look forward to making new friends!
