
The City of Mentor Natural Resources Division will host its annual Earth Day celebration on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Springbrook Gardens Park.
This free, family-friendly event invites the community to enjoy the park’s scenic grounds while participating in educational and interactive activities focused on environmental awareness and conservation.
Attendees can join guided wildlife and plant identification walks led by natural resource specialists, take part in a community tree planting and dedication, and engage in wildlife trivia and native plant bingo inside the Springbrook Gardenhouse. A variety of nature-themed crafts, games, and a biology-themed scavenger hunt will be available throughout the day, along with a sidewalk chalk contest.
Enjoy live music with Scott Sopata on steel drums from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Local eco-friendly vendors, including Avonlea Gardens and Inn, Rustbelt Bakehouse, Fungry Food Truck, Repurposing with a Purpose, Stained Glass by Design, Yia Yia’s Herbal Remedies, and others, will offer products for purchase.
Information tables and displays will be provided by organizations including the Blackbrook Audubon Society, Mentor Marsh, Ohio Ornithological Society, Friends of Headlands Beach State Park, Ohio Division of Wildlife, The Nature Conservancy, and others.
Free giveaways, native seed packets, and prizes will be distributed to participants. Admission and parking are free.
