Join the Earth Mentors for an Earth Day celebration at Eleanor B. Garfield Park on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. You and your family will learn how little changes in your lifestyle can add up to a big difference in our community and World through an array of fun and informative activities.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a rain barrel, play the Can-Kruncher game, make a bird feeder from a water bottle, and other great upcycled projects. There will also be food trucks, music, and local vendors! Naturalists from the City of Mentor and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History will be on hand to lead hands-on activities and answer questions.
We are currently seeking donations of colorful t-shirts, yarn-skeins or scraps of any size, old wool clothing, clothing buttons, beads, old CDs & DVDs, marbles, blue jeans, woven cotton or cotton poly blend dress shirts, Hula hoops, and embroidery hoops of any size for use on the projects.
Volunteers will also be needed to help run some activities, distribute literature, oversee games, assist visitors with upcycle crafts, and help behind the scenes with supplies and other miscellaneous jobs.
For information call Bonnie Rice, Keep Mentor Beautiful Executive Director at 440-974-5780 or email at rice@cityofmentor.com.
