Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 0.1% to 3.9% for the month of June 2024. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 3.5%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.2% to 4.1% for the month of June; one year prior, it was 3.7%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.8%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 3.9%, Parma have the third lowest rate with 4.2%, Cleveland Heights has the fourth lowest rate at 4.6%, and Kettering and Cuyahoga Falls have the fifth lowest rate at 4.8%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 600 to 27,200.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.5% to 5.1% for the month of June 2024. The rate for the State was 3.7% in June 2023.
