Pickleball Courts at Mentor Civic Center Park

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. It is played on a smaller court with a solid paddle and a perforated plastic ball. It’s easy to learn and accessible to people of different ages and skill levels.

The sport has been around since the1960s but has recently exploded in popularity and is now the fastest-growing racquet sport in the country.

About a decade ago, the city recognized the growth potential of this activity and started converting some of the Civic Center tennis courts into pickleball courts. Today, there are 15 courts at the facility which makes it one of the largest complexes in the region!

Courts are open from sunrise to 10 PM and available on a first-come, first-served basis except during scheduled tournaments. The courts are a hive of activity with players arriving throughout the day so there is always someone ready to play.
