Mentor residents who may have missed filing a municipal tax return for 2019 and 2020 will be receiving a letter from RITA (Regional Income Tax Agency) in the coming days. This is not a scam.
You may not owe any income tax and may have simply forgotten to file, but if you have received the letter, please follow the enclosed instructions. Not responding to the letter will likely result in a formal subpoena.
RITA’s office at the Mentor Municipal Center REMAINS CLOSED. RITA’s call center is open and available for taxpayer calls. In addition, RITA offers several secure, simple and convenient online ways to file returns, make payments, review account information, even send a message to a RITA agent through www.ritaohio.com.
For additional information, you can also call 800-860-7482 or visit the City of Mentor Municipal Income Tax page.
