Ten Lake County Artists have been selected to decorate a 3’ tall dancing bear which are on display throughout the City of Mentor through the end of August. The Bears will then be auctioned off at our Auction Gala on September 14 at the Mentor Senior Center. Additional details to come!

Mentor Rocks the Bears Gala & Auction
The City of Mentor and the Mentor Community Arts Commission will host the city’s first ever public art gala and auction on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Mentor Senior Center.
Ten bear sculptures designed and painted by Lake County artists have beautified Mentor’s parks, buildings, golf course, and library, this summer as part of “Mentor Rocks the Bears”. Now, art lovers have an opportunity to own one of these limited-edition sculptures.
The evening’s festivities include:
- A meet and greet with the artists behind Mentor Rocks the Bears
- A Tex-Mex dinner provided by Moe’s of Mentor
- The auction of the Rock the Bears sculptures led by auctioneer Pamela Morse
- The opportunity to paint a bear of one’s own on canvas
- Announcement of the winners of the “Mentor Rocks the Bears” passport contest
- A performance by local rock band, Risk Factor
- Chinese auction
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased by calling the Wildwood Cultural Center at (440) 974-5735. 21 and over only, please.
