The Mentor Victim Assistance Program is a service that addresses the needs of crime victims in the City of Mentor and Mentor-on-the-Lake.  Our program has served over 6,000 victims of crime since its inception in 1997.  Dianne Medvec is our full-time victim advocate.  She works both with the court and the police department in assisting victims through the criminal justice process.

Ohio victims of crime have constitutionally protected rights.  Some rights are automatically granted, while other rights must be requested by the victim.   With the recent passing of H.B. 343 on April 6, 2023, Ohio created the Victim’s Rights Request form, known in Mentor as the MPD Victim Rights form.
