The Mentor Police Department Reminds You That Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving
The Mentor Police Department wants to remind everyone to drive safely and sober this holiday weekend. Our officers will be on patrol and on the lookout for impaired motorists as well as unsafe operation including speeding and distracted driving.
- If you are going to drink, make sure someone else is driving
- Drive safely and observe the posted speed limit
- Be sure that you and all of your passengers are buckled up while driving
- Don’t text and drive
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, over the last five years, impaired driving accounted for 219 crashes with 128 injuries on St. Patrick’s Day in Ohio. Of those impaired driving crashes, seven were fatal resulting in 10 deaths.
Buzzed driving is drunk driving. Do your part to make sure everyone has a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day.
