The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 0.6% to 4.1% for the month of February 2023. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.9%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.7% to 4.8% for the month of February; one year prior, it was 5.7%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering and Columbus have the lowest unemployment rate with 3.5%, Lakewood has the next lowest rate at 4.0%. Mentor has the third lowest rate with 4.1%, and Springfield, Cuyahoga Falls and Cleveland Heights have the fourth lowest rate at 4.3%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 1,200 to 26,700.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.1% to 4.2% for the month of February 2023. The rate for the State was 4.7% in February 2022.
