Work on the Heisley Road expansion in Mentor will soon begin affecting traffic along this busy thoroughfare.
The two lane road is being expanded to four lanes in order to accommodate over 22,000 vehicles per day.
Until now, crews have been on hand moving utilities along the side of the road. All of that is about to change the first week in August when a section of Heisley between Mentor Avenue and Lori Jean Drive will be closed to northbound traffic as road construction commences.
A detour has been established directing northbound traffic by way of Mentor Avenue to Hopkins Road to Jackson Street. Southbound traffic will be maintained on Heisley between Jackson Street & Mentor Avenue.
This traffic pattern will remain in effect through the rest of the 2015 construction season.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays throughout the rest of the project which is scheduled for completion in Fall, 2016.
