The unemployment rate in July 2022 for the City of Mentor decreased 0.7% to 4.2% and one year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.8%. For Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.8% to 4.4% in July 2022 and one year prior, it was 5.4%.
Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering and Columbus have the lowest unemployment rate with 3.8%, and Cuyahoga Falls has the next lowest rate at 4.1%. Mentor and Lakewood have the third lowest rate with 4.2%, and Springfield has the fourth lowest rate at 5.1%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 300 to 27,200.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.1% to 4.4% in July 2022. The rate for the State was 5.4% in July 2021.
