The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 0.1% to 4.3% for the month of June 2025. One year ago in June 2024, the unemployment rate was 4.0%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.2% to 4.6% for the month of June 2025; one year prior in June 2024, it was 4.1%.
Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 4.0%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 4.3%, Parma and Cuyahoga Falls have the third lowest rate with 4.7%, and Columbus, Kettering, and Cleveland Heights have the fourth lowest rate at 4.8%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 1,100 to 26,500.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.4% to 5.1% for the month of June 2025. The rate for the State was 4.7% in June 2024.
