Lake County residents can use Local Routes or Dial-a-Ride fare free to vote on Election Day
Lake County residents can take Laketran’s Local Routes 1-9 or schedule a door-to-door Dial-a-Ride fare free to their polling location for the November general election.
“Transportation should never hinder anyone from exercising their right to vote,” said Laketran CEO Ben Capelle. “We are committed to ensuring that our residents have the necessary access to participate in the election on November 5.”
Polling locations in Lake County are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on November 5. There is no in-person voting at the Board of Elections on Election Day.
Residents who prefer to take Laketran’s Local Routes 1-9 simply need to inform their bus driver when they board that they are going to vote or just voted and the trip will be free.
Dial-a-Ride, Laketran’s door-to-door service, will also provide rides to early voting or polling locations at no charge and requires a reservation 1 to 12 business days in advance. To schedule a Dial-a-Ride reservation, call Laketran Customer Service today at 440-354-6100.
To find your voting location, contact the Lake County Board of Elections at 440-350-2700 or visit their website at https://www.lakecountyohio.gov/boe/.
