Lifeline, Inc. has launched a new Digital Inclusion Program available exclusively for eligible senior citizens (60+) in Lake County.
The new program will help senior citizens connect to home internet services and provide a reliable device to help increase their connectivity, allowing them to feel safe and comfortable with telehealth appointments, online shopping or grocery delivery orders and connecting with friends and families.
The program will provide navigation services in helping seniors select a home internet provider and, for those who qualify, will provide a free electronic device.
To help seniors feel more at ease with digital inclusion, Lifeline will partner with the Mentor Public Library to provide required one-on-one technology appointments for each senior. Mentor Public Library also provides a variety of other digital workshops that will be recommended. Lifeline will also provide a required scam prevention workshop to help protect our seniors from those who would take advantage of them.
The Housing Navigator Program is funded through a Healthy Aging Grant awarded to Lifeline by the Lake County Board of Commissioners.
Senior citizens in need of assistance can contact 211 to see if they qualify and get connected to the program. Program participants will have to meet financial and residency criteria.
