Mentor City Council held their biannual organizational meeting on January 6, 2026.

Councilpersons-at-Large Janet A. Dowling and Ray Kirchner were sworn in by Lake County Common Pleas Judge John P. O’Donnell. Councilperson-at-Large Brian G. Cook was sworn in by Mentor Law Director Joseph P. Szeman. All three terms expire in January 2030.

Janet A. Dowling was elected President of Council and Ray Kirchner was elected Vice-President of Council. Both will serve a two-year term in their respective roles.
