The Mentor Police Department has announced that the Ohio Department of Public Safety has awarded the department $18,626.30 in federal traffic safety funding. The funds are passed through the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to focus on traffic law enforcement.
The grant focuses on speed violations, distracted driving enforcement, and OVI offenses.
The Mentor Police Department would like to remind everyone to practice safe driving habits including wearing your seatbelt, don’t text and drive, and If you are drinking, pass your keys to a sober driver.
