The Zac Brown Band defines summertime. Hits like “Chicken Fried”, “Toes”, “Homegrown”, and more have been rocking docks from seas to shining sea since they broke out in 2008.
Charlotte-based 20 Ride delivers all of the best that Zac Brown has to offer. This group of veteran musicians have shared the stage with Charlie Daniels, Jimmy Buffett, Sara Evans, Sheryl Crow, Josh Turner, Lady A, Lauren Alaina, Big & Rich, Brett Young, and the Beach Boys, among other.
20 Ride has graced the Amp stage twice and will be making a return to kick of the 2025 Mentor Rocks concert series on June 3rd. We reached out to guitarist Jeff Jones who took a moment during their tour schedule to give us a peek behind the beat.
What inspired you to start this tribute band?
A former owner of East Coast entertainment once saw us playing in a bar. It was his idea to put together a Zac Brown tribute show.
How long has your band been together?
20 Ride was created back in 2013.
What’s your favorite onstage moment?
We love playing unexpected cover tunes like Zac Brown is known to do. It’s fun to see the audience be surprised.
What’s your favorite Zac Brown song to play? We love to play Chicken Fried. Everyone enjoys it and it is always special when we get to take a moment to thank God for our freedom, country, and military service members.
What are you looking forward to for your Mentor Rocks date?
We love coming to Mentor. It is a first-class experience all around! Fans can expect all the big ZBB hits, some deep cuts, along with many surprises!
What do you do when you’re not performing in 20Ride?
We actually have a fun variety-act comprised of the same band members. It’s called the Southside Station Band. We’d love for folks to look us up on Facebook and say hello!
