The public is invited to a free picnic and movie on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater as the we honor our veterans. Mentor Parks & Recreation staff will begin serving hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and non-alcoholic beverages, at 6:00 PM.
The picnic will be followed by a showing of Saving Private Ryan at 8:00 PM. Steven Spielberg’s WWII epic stars Tom Hanks and tells the story of a group of U.S. soldiers who go behind enemy lines following the Normandy Invasion to retrieve a paratrooper whose brothers have been killed in action. The movie is rated R for intense prolonged realistically graphic sequences of war violence, and for language.
The Amphitheater features lawn seating. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Coolers are welcome. No pets, glass containers, or outside alcohol, permitted on Amphitheater grounds.
All are welcome. This is a free event.
