Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.7% to 2.3% for the month of October 2024. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 2.5%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.7% to 2.4% for the month of October; one year prior, it was 2.6%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Mentor and Lakewood have the lowest unemployment rate with 2.3%, Parma has the next lowest rate at 2.5%, Cleveland Heights has the third lowest rate with 2.7%, and Kettering has the fourth lowest rate at 3.3%, and Columbus and Cuyahoga Falls have the fifth lowest rate at 3.5%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased 100 to 27,300.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.7% to 3.5% for the month of October 2024. The rate for the State was 3.3% in October 2023.
