The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased to 4.2% for the month of December 2018. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.1%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased to 4.6% from 3.9% for the month of December.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate is the third lowest at 4.2% among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more. Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate of 3.8%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased by 300 to 26,100.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.7% to 4.8% for the month of December.
