The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.1% to 3.6% for the month of March 2024. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 3.5%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased 0.2% to 4.2% for the month of March; one year prior, it was 4.0%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Mentor has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.6%, Lakewood has the next lowest rate at 3.7%, Cleveland Heights has the third lowest rate with 4.0%, and Columbus has the fourth lowest rate at 4.1%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased 200 to 26,100.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.1% to 4.5% for the month of March 2024. The rate for the State was 3.9% in March 2023.
