Mentor City SealThe unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreases 3.2% to 11% for the month of June 2020 from May 2020. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 3.9%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreases 3.2% as well to 12% for the month of June; one year ago, it was 4.1%. The June figures show the impact of the continued reopening of businesses during the COVID-19 economic crisis for the City of Mentor.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate at 10.3% with Cuyahoga Falls second at 10.8% and Mentor is third with 11%. The City’s civilian labor force increased from 26,100 to 26,700.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreases from 13.5% to 11.1% for the month of June.
