The unemployment rate in June 2022 for the City of Mentor increased 0.3% to 4.9%. One year ago, the unemployment rate was at 5.5%. For Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 0.6% to 5.3% in June 2022. One year prior, it was 6.1%.
Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Kettering has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.8%, and Columbus has the next lowest rate at 3.9%. Cuyahoga Falls has the third lowest rate with 4.0%, and Springfield has the fourth lowest rate at 4.8%, while the City of Mentor has the fifth lowest unemployment rate at 4.9%. The City’s civilian labor force increased 1,500 to 26,900.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.9% to 3.6% in June 2022. The rate for the State was 6.0% in June 2021.
