Economic NewsThe unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increases 0.2% to 4.2% for the month of February 2020.  One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.0%.  In Lake County, the unemployment rate increases to 0.5% to 5.0% for the month of February; one year ago, it was 4.6%.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate is the third lowest among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more. Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate at 3.8% with Columbus second at 3.7% and Kettering third at 4.0%. The City’s civilian labor force increased from 26,600 to 26,700.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.3% to 4.7% for the month of February.
