The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increases 1.2% to 4.4% for the month of January 2022. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 5.5%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased 1.2% as well to 5.3% for the month of January; one year ago, it was 6.4%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, the City of Mentor has the third lowest unemployment rate with Columbus having the second lowest rate at 3.9%. Kettering has the lowest rate with 3.8%. The City’s civilian labor force remains at 25,800.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 1.2% to 4.8% for the month of January 2022.
