Joseph Jordan, owner of Primoz Pizza, does not mince words. He loves his pizza, and he thinks you will too.
“I am originally from New York City where people think their pizza is the best. Well, I think Ohio pizza is the best,” he says.
When asked what inspired him to open up shop, Jordan replied with a laugh, “I grew up eating pizza, I loved pizza, and I figured 98% of the world’s population did as well.”
By all accounts, he was right. Because eight years later, Primoz Pizza has grown with locations in Cleveland, Parma, Lakewood, and now in Mentor at 9520 Diamond Centre Dr.
Primoz offers what Jordan describes as a Cleveland-style pizza with influences from New York, Chicago, and Detroit. With 42 signature pizzas (including 18 vegan options) as well as wings, salads, and appetizers, there is sure to be something on the menu for everyone.
Jordan’s personal favorite is the Clevelander, which features Primoz signature blend cheese, pizza sauce, pepperoni, yellow onions, sausage, mild peppers, and tomatoes.
With three locations on the near west side, Jordan was giving thought to an east side expansion. Friends, as well as customers, encouraged him to consider Mentor. Originally, he was reluctant due to the long drive, but once he took a closer look at the amount of activity occurring in the area between the hotels, movie theater, and other restaurants, he changed his mind.
When asked what people can expect when they walk into Primoz, Jordan replied with a smile and nod, “Probably, the best pizza they ever had.”
A bold statement for sure but he is clearly doing something right. We thank Primoz Pizza for their investment in our community and wish them success in the future.
