With the U.S. unemployment rate at 5.0%, the rate for the City of Mentor decreased 0.5% to 3.3% for the month of October 2015; one year ago the unemployment rate was 4.3%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate declined to 3.6% in the month of October; one year ago the unemployment rate was 4.6%.
The City of Mentor has the lowest unemployment rate among cities with a population of 50,000 or more. The City’s civilian labor force participation rate decreased to 26,400.
The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate declined to 4.2% for the month of October 2015. One year ago, Ohio’s unemployment rate was 4.8% (October 2014).
