The Lake County Council on Aging, in partnership with the city of Mentor, is launching a new pilot program called Operation Snow Lift.
This program is for Mentor residents, 62 years or older, who meet the program requirements. Eligible participants will receive three (3) driveway snow removal vouchers per household for the 2025-2026 winter season.
The Operation Snow Lift Program voucher distribution will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Mentor United Methodist Church located at 8600 Mentor Avenue.
This is a PILOT program, so only a LIMITED number of vouchers will be available. Distribution will be first-come, first-served for eligible participants.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a homeowner in Mentor
- 62 years or older at the time of application (10/02/2025)
- Driveway must be either concrete or asphalt (no gravel or brick)
- TOTAL annual household income must be at or below the 250% Federal Poverty Level:
- $0-$39,125 (1-person household)
- $0-$52,875 (2-person household)
Required Documents (must be provided by EACH household member at time of application/voucher distribution): 2025 Social Security award letter, most recent 30-day bank statement, proof of age (driver’s license, state ID, or birth certificate), and proof of homeowner’s insurance (current declaration page only). You will NOT be eligible if you do not provide the required documentation when applying.
