On May 13, 2025, at 10:53 AM, the Mentor Police Department responded to the CVS Pharmacy located at 9040 Mentor Avenue, in reference to a possible robbery.
Preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown white male, wearing khaki pants and a gray hoodie, passed a note demanding money to a female cashier. The male pointed to his waistband, indicating he might have a gun. He then grabbed an unknown amount of money from the register and left on foot southbound on Hopkins Road.
Officers formed a perimeter and searched for the suspect with assistance of K-9 and drone units.
Nearby Mentor Memorial Junior High and Hopkins Elementary were put under a “shelter in place” status by Mentor Schools out of caution. “Shelter in place” is where no one is allowed in or out of the school, but it is normal business continues inside the building. Mentor Police Officers working inside the schools were notified as well of nearby activity.
The male suspect was not located.
