Mentor safety forces responded to a shooting which occurred in the parking lot of a hotel on Emerald Court shortly after 8:00 AM this morning.
The 30-year old victim, an out-of-state male, was staying at the hotel along with an unknown male companion. The victim stated that he was targeted by two males in a white sedan who opened fire on him as he sat in his vehicle. The victim’s car was struck several times and the victim was wounded in the left arm. The victim pulled out of the hotel parking lot and drove through several other parking lots before entering a local business to declare that he had been wounded.
Mentor Police and Fire arrived on scene to secure the area and treat the victim.
The suspects fled the scene before police arrived, as did the companion. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and will continue to be interviewed by Mentor Police.
The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time. The incident is under investigation and additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
