April 9, 2014—Mentor residents are encouraged to complete a COMMUNITY NEEDS SURVEY to voice their opinion on what activities are important for the future use of the federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The City is currently gathering opinions and data to produce the five-year CDBG Consolidated Plan, which will guide the use of these funds in the coming five-year cycle.
The broad range of allowable activities that may be eligible include: Housing and Homelessness, Social Services, Economic Development, and Public and Community Facility Improvements. The clientele for such activities are primarily low-income persons and families, handicapped persons, homeless persons and others in crisis, including veterans, seniors and youths. The geographic boundaries are within the City of Mentor, but public service providers serving Mentor residents should also complete the survey.
The survey can be found under the LIVE section of the website, or you can contact Tom O’Hara, or (440) 974-5740 to have the survey sent to you.
